The customer I had sold our 6C 2500 Sport 2-seater Convertible to had invited us to join him for the Concours in Marienwaerdt, and we were very happy to do so.
Marienwaerdt is the new location of the former Concours at Het Loo. Obviously new restrictions and local activists had forced the Concours to move. At Marienwaerdt, a huge, private piece of land has been found where the event can take place undisturbed.
What struck me was the high quality of the cars on display, both regarding the models, the conditions and the sheer amount. The Dutch seem to have a soft spot for rare and elegant cars, like Lancias, Delahaye, early Ferrari, Cisitalia and the like, which matches my own taste, but makes competition quite tough. We were therefore very happy that we made best in class with the 1942 Alfa 6C.
The general atmosphere at this concours differs in a positive way from similar events. It is very communicative, friendly and open minded, and it is unusually easy to get to know new people. I guess we will attend next year with a small stand or a small display of cars.
