Just two months ago we got informed that we are invited to this years' Concours d' Elegance at Villa d'Este, which naturally is a big honour, but caught us totally off guard. Our 1950 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS had developed some oily sludge in the engine sump
last year, and we had not really bothered to speed up the repair, being occupied with other things. Now, two month ago, we suddenly had to drop everything and speed up the Alfa repair, get the cracks welded, crankshaft journals cast and honed and so on. Just yesterday, we have managed to put the engine back in the car and run it in for about 1h. I am very much looking forward to the event, and the tight schedule also helped me lose a few kilos....
