03.-05. Sept. 2021
It was a pleasure to be back at Schwetzingen again after the sad and unwelcome Corona interruption. As usual, we had a nice and tiny tent, brought along some Italian specialties, wine and cheese and also a few cars which were quite remarkable as well. These were a Rolls Royce 20/25 HP Windovers Convertible, an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Zagato, a Bentley S II Flying Spur, a Lotus 30 and a quite modern Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 racecar which we had brought for the AMG stand.
The whole event was a real pleasure, with good weather, friendly people, nice guests and many phantastic cars. We got two trophies, one for a customer with his magnificent Alfa 6C 1750 GS and one for our Rolls Royce Convertible by Windovers. But this was not the main point. Just to be a active again and to experience normal life and support these important events again felt good.
The absolute highlight of the weekend was my/our first drive in a steam car, initiated by infusing Italian wine into the owners on a starry night before. Honestly, the whole process of heating up, opening and closing dozens of valves and the effortless and noiseless delivery of power was really impressive. Thanks to Alexander Köhnlechner of Classic Cars Dornstetten for rubbing shoulders with the owners and for making this happen.
We are all looking forward for next years' edition, even though it will be a tight schedule with Salon Privé, Schwetzingen and the Bernina Classic being in the same week.
