This Maserati 3500 GT Touring was delivered new in 1961 to its first owner Ugo Mondini in Trento. Sig. Mondini was one of the founding members of the Suderia Trentina racing club, which exists to date.

The Maserati was ordered with the desirable 5-Speed ZF gearbox, Girling discs at the front and Girling drums at the rear. The outside colour was the beautiful Blu Tigullio, a colour named after the seawaters near Portofino, the very colour it wears today.

A special order was a Blaupunkt radio, funnily enough noted down as “Blaukpunt” in the original hand-written order form.

The original interior colour was “neutro”, almost white, and probably a bit too much contrasting for today’s taste. It was changed to “senape” or mustard tan (Connolly) during restoration work later in 2008.

In the 70ies, the Coupe was exported to a new owner in the USA/Indiana, Walter Stacy, who enjoyed the Maserati for the next 20 years.

In 1995, the Coupe found its way back to Europe and was registered in the Netherlands. The new owner was Herman Hendriks, a member of the technical committee for the Maserati Club. He used the car on a great number of occasions, covering about 40.000 km in it. During his ownership, considerable restoration and service work was carried out, invoices of which are on file.

In 2012, The Maserati changed hands and was bought by Jan Veening/NL, who also invested huge sums to bring the car back to its beautiful and authentic condition.

The Maserati now comes from a large German collection of classic cars, some of which are for sale, due to an intended reduction in size.  This Maserati 3500 GT is in exceptionally beautiful condition and would certainly bring joy to its next owner.
